MINISTRY SCHOOL
REFUND AND RETURNS POLICY

Last updated: September 2026

  1. INTRODUCTION

This Refund and Returns Policy applies to purchases made from Ministry School (Pty) Ltd through ministryschool.co.za.

It covers:

  • Physical books
  • Online courses and digital course material

This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Cancellation Policy, and Delivery and Digital Access Policy.

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or other applicable South African law.

  1. PHYSICAL BOOKS

We want customers to receive books that are in good condition and correspond with what they ordered.

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If you receive an incorrect, damaged or defective book, please contact us at wilma@ministryschool.co.za and provide:

  • Your name
  • Your order number
  • A description of the problem
  • Photographs showing the damage or defect, where reasonably possible

We will assess the matter and provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable South African consumer law.

  1. DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED BOOKS

Physical goods supplied by Ministry School are subject to the statutory protections provided by South African consumer law.

Where a book is defective, damaged, materially different from what was ordered, or otherwise fails to meet the standards required by applicable law, the customer may be entitled to a replacement or refund.

Where the Consumer Protection Act’s implied warranty of quality applies, qualifying defective goods may be returned within six months after delivery and the consumer may choose the remedy provided for by law.

Ministry School will not charge a customer the cost of returning goods where the law requires the supplier to bear that cost.

  1. INCORRECT BOOKS

If Ministry School sends you a book that is different from the book you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

We will arrange for the incorrect book to be returned and, depending on the circumstances and availability, either:

  • Send the correct book; or
  • Refund the amount paid for the affected item.

Where the error was made by Ministry School, the customer will not be responsible for reasonable return or replacement delivery costs.

  1. CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS

Where a customer simply changes their mind about a physical book, return rights will be determined in accordance with applicable South African law, including any cooling-off right that applies to the particular online transaction.

Where Ministry School voluntarily accepts a change-of-mind return outside a statutory right, the book must be unused, undamaged and in a condition suitable for resale.

The customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning a change-of-mind item where permitted by law.

Please contact wilma@ministryschool.co.za before returning any book so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.

  1. ONLINE PURCHASE COOLING-OFF RIGHTS

Certain electronic transactions may qualify for a statutory cooling-off period under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Where a statutory cooling-off right applies, Ministry School will honour that right in accordance with the legislation.

Any applicable return costs, refund requirements, exclusions and time periods will be handled in accordance with the law.

  1. ONLINE COURSES AND DIGITAL CONTENT

Online courses and digital products are different from physical books because access to digital content may be provided shortly after payment.

Where a customer has purchased a course but has not yet received or activated access, a refund request may be considered subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.

Once course access or digital content has been supplied or accessed, refund and cancellation rights may differ from those applying to physical products.

Nothing in this policy removes any cancellation or refund right that a customer has under applicable South African law.

  1. PROBLEMS ACCESSING A COURSE

A technical access problem is not automatically treated as a cancellation or refund request.

If you have paid for a course but cannot access it because of a technical problem, please contact:

wilma@ministryschool.co.za

Please provide your name, order number and a description of the problem.

Ministry School will take reasonable steps to investigate and restore access.

If Ministry School is unable to provide the digital product or course purchased, an appropriate remedy, including a refund where required, will be provided.

  1. DUPLICATE PAYMENTS

If you are accidentally charged more than once for the same order or course, please contact us at:

wilma@ministryschool.co.za

Once the duplicate payment has been verified, the duplicate amount will be refunded.

  1. PRODUCTS OR COURSES WE CANNOT SUPPLY

If a book becomes unavailable after payment has been received, or Ministry School is unable to provide a purchased course or digital product, we will notify the customer and provide a refund where required.

We will not substitute a materially different product or course without the customer’s agreement.

  1. REFUND METHOD

Approved refunds will ordinarily be processed using an appropriate payment method having regard to the method originally used for the transaction and the capabilities of the payment provider.

Customers may be required to provide information reasonably necessary to identify and process the refund.

Ministry School will never request a customer’s full payment card number by ordinary email for the purpose of processing a refund.

  1. REFUND PROCESSING TIMES

Once a refund has been approved, Ministry School will process it as soon as reasonably possible and within any period required by applicable law.

After Ministry School or the payment provider has processed a refund, the time taken for the amount to appear in the customer’s account may depend on the customer’s bank or payment provider.

  1. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN OR REFUND

To request a return, replacement or refund, please email:

wilma@ministryschool.co.za

Please include:

  • Your full name
  • Your order number
  • The product or course concerned
  • The reason for your request
  • Photographs of damaged or defective physical goods where reasonably applicable

Please do not send physical products back without first contacting Ministry School for return instructions.

  1. ABUSE OF THE RETURNS PROCESS

Ministry School reserves the right to investigate suspected fraudulent or abusive refund or return requests.

This includes attempts to obtain refunds while continuing to use, copy, distribute or share paid digital course material.

This provision does not restrict any legitimate consumer right or remedy provided by South African law.
